Belonging and connecting - children's relationships in the early years

Photo of two young children playing out of doors

This PowerPoint presentation from Stirling Council makes links with the national Birth to Three guidance document and illustrates the central importance of relationships in young children's development.

It provides an example of a how a friendship between two young children helps them to learn about the needs and feelings of others and allows them to develop confidence and resilience. Finally, the close bond between the children also helps to ease transitions.

These slides were presented in a seminar at this year's Scottish Learning Festival, 'Birth to Three: Actively Supporting our Youngest Children'.
