Bellsquarry Primary Case Study

All aboard the walking bus

The key points to this case study are:

  • partnership working
  • ethos
  • environment, resources and facilities.

Bellsquarry Primary School is situated on the outskirts of Livingston where the school’s catchment area is Bellsquarry village and the west side of Murieston. In recent years there has been extensive house building in the area and this resulted in the school being extended with the school roll increasing from 75 in 2000 to 227 in the 2006/07 session plus a 30/30 nursery class.

This case study looks at the links with family and the community through the development of a walking bus initiative.
