Best selling author Anthony Horowitz on Glow

Introduction

The Scottish Book Trust teamed up with Glow to bring Anthony Horowitz, the best-selling author of the Alex Rider novels, back to Scotland for his largest ever author event. The event, which took place in May 2009, was the first live virtual author event hosted by the Scottish Book Trust and is hoped to be the first of many.

The Glow team worked in partnership with The Scottish Book Trust to stream the event and approximately P6-S2 600 pupils and staff were watching live on Glow.

Horowitz took questions from the children from Uphall Primary and Canal View Primary who made up the live audience and answered questions that had been submitted by schools in the weeks leading up to the event and who logged on to watch. It is estimated that the event reached over 10,000 young people throughout Scotland via the live stream on the Scottish Book Trust website and through Glow.
