The 2-3 room

The next step for the 2-3 room is to integrate sensory play totally into the daily planning. Already, ice balloons have become a firm favourite with the children. At some point in the future, the 2-3 room will relocate to a new space within the nursery. The staff see this as an ideal opportunity to have a dedicated sensory area within the new room. They are also discussing the possibility of improving on the existing garden area to make a sensory garden with scented plants, wind chimes etc outside.

The baby room

For the baby room, staff are working on a sensory area for the babies and integrating sensory activities into their weekly planning.

They are also going to build on staff ICT skills and make use of the digital movie creator to record children’s experiences with the sensory activities.
