This is an intensive ‘hands on’ day allowing teachers experience of a wide range of cake decorating techniques such as creating flowers/Xmas decrations, Royal Icing coating, piping and finishing. Sugar paste will be covered looking at frilling, draping, crimping and embossing techniques. Supports courses from S1 to Advanced Higher.
The aims of this course are:
to allow participants to gain experience of skills and techniques used in cake decoration
to provide information which can be used in teaching secondary courses from S1 to Advanced Higher
to provide practical experience of related processes which can be replicated in the classroom
to supply information about courses and career opportunities for students interested in the food industry
