Cross-curricular Learning in P2 with Virtual Pets

Creating rich learning tasks via resources that are engaging, challenging and involving can provide teachers with the contexts and openings to explore and enrich the learner experience. This presentation will detail how a P2 teacher did just this using the Nintendo DS game Nintendogs.  This game requires the player to look after a virtual puppy from birth and eventually through the game to a dog show, where it will perform the tricks that you have trained it to do. Come along, stroke a virtual pet and make it jump over a rope whilst you hear about this exciting initiative!
