Seminar Description

This seminar will showcase some of the interesting work being taken forward in schools using ICT to support learning in PE. Iain as a keen interest in ICT and regularly blogs about this and other PE issues on his blog http://drilly.wordpress.com/.

Kevin will present on the use of Dartfish and specifically his innovative use of the mediabooks to support learners in PE in Anderson High School.

At Lenzie Academy, Russell developed 2 blogs and a wiki to support certificate PE and a blog for the U16 football team. He will present an overview on his use of Blogs and Wikis to extend the learning experience in PE and beyond the confines of the classroom.

Speaker biography

Iain Stanger, Principal teacher of PE at Banchory Academy has been teaching for 15 years has worked for the SQA as a setter, verifier and marker and was previously employed by LTS as the physical education development officer.

Kevin Smith, Principal teacher of PE Anderson High School Shetland, has been teaching for 12 years he was central to the development of his school PE website.

Russell Imrie a recently qualified PE teacher has been teaching for just over a year. Already he has gained a reputation for innovation in East Dunbartonshire for his use of ICT in PE.
