Connecting Communities

Seminar Description

With current and ongoing innovations in technology Gàidhlig communities can be more connected than ever before.

Where there is a lack of a natural Gàidhlig community, teachers and pupils need an opportunity to interact regularly with other Gàidhlig speakers, both fluent and learners, on a regular basis.

This environment will afford pupils wider opportunities to use and practice their  language skills, and raise their awareness of Gàidhlig as a language spoken widely in communities throughout Scotland and beyond.

Development in online communication and collaboration will enable practitioners and learners to create a more viable Gàidhlig community across Scotland and beyond.

At a time when learners and practitioners are extending  social networking eg  Blogging, Podcasting and Video conferencing there are opportunities for establishing and developing virtual Gaelic communities.

In this seminar delegates will be explore different ways of setting up online Gàidhlig communities to meet their  own specific needs
