Assessment is for Learning in the early years

Rationale - Having a shared approach to assessment ensures continuity and encourages children to be actively involved in their learning.

Aim - To improve the quality of active learning in pre- five and primary settings.

Content -This workshop looks at how early years staff have taken forward the principles of Assessment is for Learning in Aileymill Nursery School. Evidence of the impact on children's learning will be given, as will details of consultation with parents and implications for transitions.

This good practice will be shared across all early years' establishments and primary schools in Inverclyde at our forthcoming Head Teachers' conference on 19/20 February 2008.
