Scottish Opera is Scotland's national opera company. They are the largest performing arts organisation in Scotland.
The ‘Five:15 - Operas made in Scotland’ are new works that deliver an exciting and different take on a traditional art form. Five:15 offers a wide range of styles, themes and approaches to opera.
In the run up to Scottish Opera’s Five:15 season in 2009, five teams of young people from five Scottish secondary schools went behind the scenes to investigate what it takes to create a new opera and the wide range of employment opportunities in the arts beyond performing.
Young people from Beath High School, Leith Academy, Penicuik High School, Stewarton Academy and Auchterarder Community High School interviewed a wide range of people that brought Five:15 to the stage. They gained a unique insight into the planning, hard work and development that take a national production from page to performance.
In the coming weeks their final interviews will appear on this website - right now a special preview film is available to watch online.
