Dunoon Grammar School TV (DGSTV) was created using virtual studio technology. The flagship show for the station is a weekly magazine-style show featuring news, views, interviews, competitions and music acts. Shows are planned, recorded and edited by pupils and broadcast within the school on plasma televisions and multimedia projectors.

World-renowned music act Snow Patrol supported the TV station by giving the school permission to use its international hit 'Open your Eyes' as a theme tune to the show. Dougie MacLean, who wrote 'Caledonia', also gave the pupils the go-ahead to recreate their own version of this year's Homecoming 2009 advert for the station, featuring his song and images of Dunoon. This was filmed live on DGSTV's official launch day on 16 January 2009.

Homecoming at Dunoon Grammar School

The Dunoon Grammar Homecoming project is wide-ranging, across subject areas. In this video case study filmed at the TV station launch day, pupils discuss how the project helped them celebrate Homecoming, and Paul Gallanagh, PT Business and Computing, summarises the various educational benefits the project has brought. Dunoon Grammar pupils also promote the DGSTV project and the remaking of the Homecoming TV advertisement.
