St. Winning's Primary School sent in the following details of its Homecoming activities...
- We started the year with a visit from Tony Bonning who sang and told Scottish songs/stories.
- We had a Scottish themed assembly for the whole school.
- Each class has looked at Scotland in a cross-curricular project.
- P1/2 entered the Itchy Coo competition and one P1 got an award. They are entering the Home poetry competition.
- P5/6 are having a Scottish author visit.
- They have looked at other countries in relation to Scotland.
- We are presently having an antiracist/sectarian week to highlight we all belong to Scotland.
- P4/5 are looking at Scottish castles and P7 are taking part in the Tournament bridge restoration.
- We have entered children into Burns competition and hope to focus on Scotland and Homecoming over the following months.
