St Timothy's Primary school sent in the following details about its Homecoming activities...

St Timothy's pupils celebrated the Feast of St Mungo at Glasgow Cathedral at the inter-churches' celebration in January 2009.

The new song was written especially for the Homecoming year, 'We are the Children of the City of St Mungo'. Cardinal Keith O'Brien and Archbishop Conti were amongst the guests.

The pupils also celebrated the opening of the new extension to the Calton Fire Station in Glasgow. Primary 6 sang the Homecoming song for Princess Anne and presented her with a framed copy of the words.

The children also made a presentation at school to Cardinal O'Brien of the St Mungo Homecoming Song. On this visit the Cardinal told the children that every time he returns to Glasgow it feels like a Homecoming.

Glasgow songwriter Ian Davison wrote two songs and both were recorded as part of the Homecoming project. To date, St Timothy's has sent £500 to an Aids centre in South Africa from the sale of the CD.
