Homecoming activities at Kilcreggan Primary School, Kilcreggan

Kilcreggan Primary School sent in the following details of its Homecoming activities...

All pupils in the school are currently learning a Scottish poem. All children are then invited to recite their poem and are judged on their performance. First and second from each class are awarded. Pupils in the Scottish country dance group are learning dances to showcase while pupils form p5-7 are learning Scottish songs to perform.

On the evening of February 10th parents and friends of the school are invited to attend a traditional Scottish evening where dancers and singers will perform and class poetry winners will recite their poem for all. In this small village this is a big event, and parents and carers from throughout the school are involved in organising and running the evening. The catering supervisor will assist in the kitchen with the preparation of a traditional meal of haggis, neeps and tatties. An ex pupil will pipe in the haggis while P6/7 pupils will give the address.
