Fintry Primary School sent in the following details about its Homecoming activities...
Primary 6 is organising a celebration of all things Scottish with a Scottish evening. The children are learning a play, songs, poems and even devising a quiz for the evening to test the parents knowledge of Scotland. They will serve food for the guests and then finish the evening with some Scottish dancing.
The children are also involving the whole school in the celebrations by having a 'Scottish day', where children can come to school wearing tartan or Scottish colours.
We have also linked with a rural school in Banff and are currently writing letters to them to find out about how their everyday lives compare with theirs.
Through Environmental Studies we are focussing on Scottish wildlife and caring for our animals for our topic this term.
The children are participating in Scottish activities through the Primary Homecoming Classroom on Glow and have enjoying taking part in a Glow Meet last term.
We are also going to look at the history of tartan and design our own Fintry tartan.
