Dalintober Primary School sent in the following details about its Homecoming activities...
P7 have just completed an Interdisciplinary study based on Homecoming 2009. They have identified Scottish icons, physical features of Scotland and famous Scots. They held their own Burns Supper with dancers, pipers and recitals and where every child wrote a toast! They designed boxes from a design brief to hold tablet/shortbread etc, to commemorate Homecoming.
Probably the children's favourite part was investigating styles of Scottish music from Jacobite songs to the Bay City Rollers! 'Campbeltown Loch' and 'Donald, Where's Your Troosers?' were also popular on the playlist. The school choir are performing 'Caledonia' as their own choice piece in the local music festival.
