Bellahouston Primary School sent in the following details of its Homecoming activities...
The nursery class has been weaving, making tartan paintings, and tartan pot pourri bags for the children to give to their parents. The children have also been looking at different tartans and have made a tartan display. The work is going to be exhibited around the local area.
They have been learning some poems and also 'Charlie is my Darling'.
We've had a parent in playing Scottish music on her accordion, and the children have been learning some Scottish dancing with Primary 3/4. They've been learning three dances: 'Strip the Willow', 'The Canadian Barn Dance' and The Dashing White Sargent'.
We're going to have a Burn's Supper on Monday the 9th of February, to which the parents are invited. We'll be able to watch the children dancing and reciting the songs and poems they have learned throughout the last few weeks. Afterwards they'll all sit down to a traditional Scottish feast of haggis, neeps and tatties, and oatcakes, shortbread and Irn Bru.
