For the third year running we have held a very successful Celebrating Scotland Week at Abbey. We chose the week 26-30 January this year to coincide with the launch of Homecoming Scotland 2009. Celebrating Scotland Week at Abbey is an eight-year programme which runs from nursery through to P7.
The whole week is devoted to learning about Scotland and the children are given the opportunity to learn a Scottish song and poem, listen to a Scottish story, taste food which is associated with Scotland, learn a Scottish dance as well as many more exciting Scottish-based activities in art, geography, history and maths. At the end of the week the children give a presentation to parents and relatives highlighting all that has gone on during the week.
