National Trust for Scotland Learning Services

The National Trust for Scotland is the largest conservation charity in Scotland. NTS cares for countryside, buildings, battlefields, gardens and has thousands of artefacts and works of art which are all available for pupils to learn from. It has a team of Learning Services staff who devise programmes and events for pupils of all ages and interests.
The National Trust for Scotland publishes a schools programme every year which gives details of all its activities and programmes. This is sent free to every school in Scotland or can be obtained free of charge from Head office in Edinburgh (telephone 0131 243 9312).
The Countryside Ranger Service is the largest in Scotland and works closely with schools on a variety of environmental topics and activities.
Educational Membership

Many schools find Educational Membership the most cost effective way to enjoy NTS programmes and to visit the properties in its care. Teachers are entitled to a free preliminary visit and many of our 'value added' visits are half price to those schools which have NTS Educational Membership.
NTS Education website
The NTS Education website contains a wealth of information for teachers, students and pupils looking for help with projects. The website itself contains several microsites and is packed with free downloadable images and resources. The new Culloden website is also crammed with a downloadable resource bank of images and source material on the battle and the Jacobites.
Whatever your class is studying NTS can probably help with programmes and advice.
