Telling the story

St Ninian’s as a School of Ambition planned to build on the expertise within particular departments, but very quickly broadened its focus to engage all pupils, as well as parents and the community, through innovative learning and teaching.

High quality CPD and Action Research have underpinned developments in learning and teaching. ICT, AiFL, Collaborative Learning, International Education, IDL and innovations such as Active Learning Days have all contributed to the transformation in learning and teaching and raising attainment. The benefits of distributed leadership are being felt in all areas of the school, and the development of leadership skills in pupils has been a highlight of the school’s transformation.
