Programme for Transformational Change 

An excellence in learning and teaching School of Ambition.

The council is aiming to improve attainment and engagement across its secondary and junior high schools. An ethos of ambition, excellence and outward focus will be created in all secondary schools in Orkney.

A cohesive curriculum will be developed so that all pupils receive a consistent range of opportunities, experiences and recognition of achievement regardless of location and current curricular barriers.

Outward focus will be strengthened through the development of e-twinning links between all Orkney secondary schools. It will build in links with other secondary schools along the way. This will build on current exploratory approaches to e-twinning. We are using currently available ICT equipment and will establish programmes of collaborative work between Orkney schools, which can be shared with international partners.
