Programme for Transformational Change

An active School of Ambition. This is a high-achieving school, which is building on a known strength. It is committed to improving provision, but the Schools of Ambition programme will help it transform.

The school will build on a key strength by improving participation in physical activity relevant to natural local resources, such as hillwalking and cycling. The PE curriculum will be improved by providing more choice and the primary curriculum will be extended to develop a 3-18 PE experience.

Driven through the PE department, with support from partners including the Highland Football Academy and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, the school will create an integrated community learning facility with an emphasis on excellence in sports and physical activity. It responds to local regeneration plans, which will see improved community sporting facilities such as golf and an ice rink and new housing.
