Telling the story

The vision of Braes was to build a school where all pupils were engaged and excited by their own learning and able to achieve their potential. To develop this ethos of work, community, co-operation and success, a range of strategies were undertaken.

School Facilities - the re-design of the library and the development of a social area for pupils

 Pupil Leadership – a new motto, positive strategies and many opportunities

 Pupil Engagement – creation of school radio, celebrating successes through film and photographs, development of the Pupil Council, house activity programmes, assemblies

 Staff Leadership – encouraging staff to identify and develop their own ideas to improve the school

Technology for Learning – the use of new technologies to modernise teaching and learning

The Curriculum – the provision of courses to enable pupils to develop new skills

Building the School Community –,improving links with Associated Primaries and Parents and establishing traditions.
