Programme for Transformational Change

The original Transformation Plan focussed largely on vocational education. However, over the period, priorities changed and the school began to put more emphasis on the what, the how and the why of learning.

The ‘what’ is the vocational curriculum – building an appropriate curriculum to meet the needs of the learners whilst linked to local industry needs. Courses were introduced in Rural Skills and a training kitchen and restaurant have been installed.

The ‘how’ of learning is the way in which the school has engaged with new technologies and the subsequent impact on learning and teaching.

The ‘why’ of learning is the idea of values education, working to develop a sense of value in their young people which will impact on their ability to contribute to society.
