
This short simple quiz is a quick and easy way to introduce pupils, parents and other learners to the concept of a footprint.

This cluster of six Aberdeen City schools worked together to create an eco-week based on the Schools Global Footprint resource. The week raised awareness of the need to live more sustainably and of ways in which footprints can be reduced.

The P6 class at Kildrum Primary School used the Schools Global Footprint resource to calculate its food footprint and then decided to reduce it by growing their own vegetables as well as reducing waste associated with food.

Glencryan Special School, which provides support for young people with additional support needs, used the Schools Global Footprint resource to look for a healthy way to reduce a school’s food footprint.

Hamilton Grammar School used an interdisciplinary working approach to measure the energy, waste and buildings components of their ecological footprint. The work led to a carbon offsetting project linked with Ghana.

P7 pupils at Markethill Primary School were able to measure their school’s footprint and then take steps to reduce it in the areas of water, energy and waste.
