This case study movie portrays the partnership between Alva Primary School and a range of agencies to provide high quality learning experiences for pupils. With the support of countryside rangers and other specialists, pupils raised brown trout from eggs using a hatchery installed within their classroom. The fish were then released into the nearby River Devon. This enterprise activity highlights the benefits of employer engagement for schools and young people. It also explores how interdisciplinary experiences help learners to develop the four capacities of Curriculum for Excellence. This case study is part of the Determined to Succeed programme, which illustrates models of successful partnerships between schools, business organisations and employers.
