A Celebration of Scotland’s Enterprising Young People

During November, teachers will be encouraged to celebrate and showcase the exciting and enterprising approaches that exist in classrooms up and down the country. 

With this in mind, Determined to Succeed has designed a toolkit to help teachers celebrate the enterprising young people in their schools.

Throughout last year's event many schools highlighted their enthusiasm for themed activity. Therefore this year the celebrations have been expanded and a different theme will be introduced each week during Enterprise Month. This will help provide a focus and demonstrate that enterprising approaches apply across the curriculum. 

The themes for Enterprise Month 2008 are: 

• Week 1 - Science and Technology (3-7 November)
• Week 2 - Communications (10-14 November)
• Week 3 - Global Entrepreneurship (17-21 November)
• Week 4 - Scotland’s Past, Culture and Heritage (24-28 November).

Celebrations shouldn’t just be limited to these themes as this is an excellent opportunity to celebrate all the exciting and inspiring things that are happening in schools.

There is a great deal of enterprising activity already happening in schools around the country and the toolkit has been developed to share this great practice. 

In the toolkit you will find examples of events you can run in your school, top tips on getting good press coverage and a variety of downloadable templates to help you in the planning process.

Enterprise Month provides a fantastic platform to showcase the work happening locally, nationally and internationally.
