Title Social and vocational: Achieving Excellence through Enterprise in Education

DescriptionThe Standard Grade course in Social and Vocational Skills (SVS) develops practical, social and vocational skills necessary for adult life. It provides students with opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills in a variety of relevant circumstances: personal life, the family, the wider community, work and leisure. (Similar aspects of personal, social and vocational awareness and development are used in the National Units and Courses in personal and social education.) SVS makes a significant contribution to preparing young people for work through developing skills including communication, numeracy, problem solving and working with others.
