| Description | The Royal Air Force Motivational Outreach Team is able to offer a wide range of activities that focus on the development of teambuilding and interpersonal skills. Teams operate throughout Scotland and Northern Ireland and are concerned with the development of life skills through Active Learning. Our activities include a range of practical, construction and desktop activities which focus on pupils understanding the principles of good communication, teamwork, problem solving and leadership. The teams not only visit schools, they also visit youth organisations and youth development schemes. Learning objectivesCommunicationFocusing on effective communication, our activities concentrate on realising the benefits of good communication, looking at different methods of communication and demonstrating those methods. Group discussion and identification of individual skills are reinforced and encouraged throughout. TeamworkThese activities are geared towards developing interpersonal relationships, working together and understanding the values and attributes of working as a team. LeadershipThe exercises here involve examining leadership styles and the role of a leader, identifying individual leadership potential and encouragement to take the lead. Problem solvingThrough structured tasks the team demonstrates the benefits of ‘taking a step back’ and adopting a planned, structured approach to finding the required solution to the problem. Maths and science workshopsThe team can also offer science and mathematics workshops designed to help pupils integrate curriculum-based topics with real-life scenarios. More informationThe RAF Outreach teams are entirely self-sufficient, carrying out all learning objectives with the use of MTC (Mobile Team Challenge) and MTa (soft skills) equipment as well as all resources required for science and mathematics workshops. All of the services the RAF Motivational Outreach Team provides are FREE of charge. For further details please contact: Sgt Sharron Carmichael
