Shared Resources

Responding to angry pupils

Author Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS)
Description

This CPD resource encourages staff to explore responses to pupils' temper loss. The ideas and information consider young people’s responses to the question of temper loss in schools.

Teachers have the opportunity to look at and reflect on the opinions of young people on losing their tempers. Staff can explore the reasons and consider what responses are needed to address this issue.

The resource contains four group activities which take approximately one and a half hours to complete. The activities could be a starting point for identifying possible changes in staff or school approaches, or could be used as a focus point for reviewing existing responses.
