'R U A Dummy 2?' is a teaching resource designed for tutor-led work with 12-16-year-olds focusing on water safety and risk perception.

The pack includes adult leader notes, an advice sheet on what to do if you see someone in difficulty in the water, a student discussion sheet that includes discussion points for each section and an evaluation form.

It also includes a CD containing audiovisual material with clips of young people jumping off bridges and playing in sluices, which supports the following sections in the leader's notes:

  • having fun in and around water
  • the problem
  • alternative activities in and around water
  • walking away from danger. 

'R U A Dummy 2?' was produced in conjunction with and funded by the Environment Agency and copies are available free of charge while stocks last.

The resource can be ordered by e-mailing name and address to pcornall@rospa.com or faxing your details to the Water and Leisure Department at ROSPA on 0121 248 2001, clearly stating the name of the resource.
