DescriptionThrough the study of modern languages, students explore the use of language in other societies, including aspects of everyday living and work. Students study the use of language in context and appreciate the need for clarity and sensitivity in communication. Through the study of language and context they begin to encounter cultural similarities and differences, an understanding of which is essential for effective communication. Modern languages make a significant contribution to preparing young people for work through developing skills, including communication, using ICT and working with others.
