Description

This National Qualifications Curriculum Support resource provides information, examples and student activities to support learning and skill development for Using a Computer in Business.

The resource comprises:

  • a set of teacher/tutor notes
  • an interactive PowerPoint presentation that includes video and audio files
  • a student workbook
  • student activities using Word files
  • student activities using spreadsheets
  • student activities using database files.

The PowerPoint presentation, student workbook and activity files are designed to be used in conjunction with each other.

PowerPoint presentation - video and audio features

An audio introductory guide to the PowerPoint section of this resource is provided. Please ensure students listen to these instructions before using this classroom presentation. 

There are also three video clips which accompany specific tasks from the PowerPoint presentation. These can be watched and/or downloaded via the PowerPoint or by using the following links.

If you don’t have PowerPoint installed, it is still possible to view presentations by downloading a PowerPoint Viewer. Visit the help page for instructions.
Excel files icon Excel File
To view an Excel file you will need to have MS Excel installed on your machine. Click on the name of the Excel spreadsheet to open it.
Access files icon Access Database
To open or save an Access file you will need to have MS Access installed on your machine. Click on the name of the Access database to save it to your computer.
