Title Active Partnerships – A Whole School Approach to Physical Activity

The day included presentations and discussion on active travel, the active curriculum and out-of-school-hours learning. There were opportunities to hear about the latest research around girls' physical activity, active travel, Active Schools and the Physical Activity of Scottish Schoolchildren (PASS) study.

 

The draft physical activity guidance that will support the Schools (Health Promotion and Nutrition) (Scotland) Act 2007 was also presented and discussed.

 

The day was attended by network members delivering within schools and their communities, such as Active School Co-ordinators, Health Development Officers, Physical Activity Health Promotion Specialists, PE specialists, School Travel Co-ordinators and Sports Development Officers.

 

The events were delivered and supported by SHPSU, sportscotland, Health Scotland, the Child and Adolescent Health Research Unit (CAHRU) and the Scottish Executive Health Department.
