Restorative practices

Restorative practices

The Scottish Government’s recent research defined Restorative Practices as developing school ethos, policies and procedures to reduce the possibility of conflict or harm arising; and restoring good relationships where there has been conflict or harm.

Restorative practices can offer a powerful approach to promoting harmonious relationships in schools and can lead to the successful resolution of conflict and harm. Where there is commitment, leadership, enthusiasm and staff development, restorative practices have a clear, positive impact on schools.
