TitleKeynote Address - Promoting Motivational Resilience within Physical Education
Start time10.00
Duration60 mins
Keynote description

'The Motivated School' provides tools and activities to help teachers reflect on the motivational capacity of their schools and classrooms. The framework identifies the 'Classroom Energisers' that impact on the key 'Pupil Drivers'.

The programme also enables teachers to consider and differentiate pupils in terms of their 'Learning Stances' and so allows them to generate differential enabling strategies or 'Teaching Hooks' to motivate these different groups.

It aims to promote a better understanding of the nature and effect of motivation by:

  • affording teachers the opportunity and language to make sense of their own intuitive ideas and broaden their conceptualisation of motivation
  • examining the types of learning environments in the classroom
  • broadening teachers' repertoire of tools and skills to create motivating climates.
