National Physical Education Conference 2007

Moving Physical Education Forward - Wednesday 19 December 2007

Learning and Teaching Scotland hosted the National Physical Education Conference 2007, Moving Physical Education Forward, on Wednesday 19 December at the Stirling Management Centre, part of Stirling University.

Overview of the conference from Iain Stanger

The recent National Physical Education Conference was a resounding success. Thank you to all that attended: delegates, speakers and exhibitors. The feedback received is very positive: 96% enjoyed the conference ; 94 % thought the conference met its aims ; and 95 % thought we got the balance of the day right. Not bad with over 400 people in attendance.

Comments from delegates regarding the presentations and workshops include: excellent presenters, high quality, amazing range of experiences being made available across Scotland and beyond; and 95 % thought the seminars were informative and interesting.

The most impressive part about the day was the staggering depth of physical education expertise in the one place at the one time. The keynote and national updates showed the belief in the importance of physical education in children and young people’s learning, and emphasised everyone's commitment to make these experiences more available to all.
