Towards the end of lunch, Artlink Central gave a presentation on the work they had been doing with Polish and Scottish children in Falkirk. The children had made puppets, designed sets and written scripts with the support of the artists.
The aim of the work was to explore similarities in culture and folklore between the two countries. The young people spoke freely of their experiences and were happy to exhibit and talk about the fabulous puppets they had made.
Exhibitors set up stands for delegates to visit during the breaks and the materials they presented and their willingness to talk about their experiences was much appreciated. Exhibitors included Careers Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway Council, LGBT Youth Scotland, Positive Behaviour Team, Young Scot, SACRO, respectme, University of Aberdeen, Pupil Inclusion Network Scotland, Personal Support in Schools, City of Glasgow Council and Falkirk Council.
Finally Graham Ogilvie, the Conference artist, provided a superb record of the day. His ability to pick out the key issues from the speakers and present them on large posters displayed around the venue, gave delegates the opportunity to reflect and comment on a variety of topics that had been raised throughout the day.
The Evaluations were very good and it is hoped that further Conferences of this type can be organised in the future.
