Professional Development Programme For Educational Psychologists in Scotland

The Professional Development Programme (PDP) for Educational Psychologists in Scotland is a unique, collaborative venture managed by the Association of Scottish Principal Educational Psychologists, supported by local authorities and funded by the Scottish Government.

The PDP involves groups of educational psychologists from different Scottish local authorities working together each year on a topic chosen from three themes. These topics are researched and reported on from May until March of the following year. The reports are then published in three formats:

  • a detailed version which is sent to all local authorities and psychological services in Scotland
  • a summary report of the three topics which is additionally sent to universities, libraries and associated professional bodies
  • an internet version which is posted on the LTS website.
