Find out more

There are several ways you can find out more:

  • Ask the school what clubs are on offer. Sometimes, children can go to other nearby schools to take part in clubs offered there.
  • Ask the school what you can do to help your child learn outside of school hours, to support what is being taught in school. Ask if they have any special materials which you can use.
  • Check out the information about out-of-school activities on your local authority website. Authorities have out-of-school learning co-ordinators whom you can contact.
  • Look out for information leaflets in libraries, leisure centres and community centres.
  • There are lots of organisations which young people can be involved in. Many of them will advertise in local papers or have leaflets in libraries and shops.
