News and updates

  • Engage for Education

A series of public events will be held to give parents, teachers and others who care about the future of Scottish education the chance to air their views and have their voices heard at the highest level of government. Curriculum for Excellence, due to be rolled out across all schools from August, is expected to be a recurring theme.

  • Parents to be given a voice in Scottish Education

The National Parent Forum of Scotland will hold its first annual general meeting in Edinburgh on Saturday 4 September. The Forum, a parent-led, independent body with a representative from each local authority area, was established at the end of 2009 following research and consultation with Parent Councils across Scotland. The AGM will adopt a formal constitution and elect a Leadership Team.

  • Parents contributing to new qualifications development

The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) is developing and will deliver the next generation of National Qualifications to support Curriculum for Excellence.
