Curriculum for Excellence - fact files and films
The Scottish Government has produced three new Curriculum for Excellence fact files to help teachers and education staff talk to parents and learners and other stakeholders about current changes in Scottish education. The Scottish Government has also produced a series of films demonstrating the practical application of Curriculum for Excellence to learning and teaching to help teachers, schools and local authorities make the most of Curriculum for Excellence.
Parents to be given a voice in Scottish Education
The National Parent Forum of Scotland will hold its first annual general meeting in Edinburgh on Saturday 4 September. The Forum, a parent-led, independent body with a representative from each local authority area, was established at the end of 2009 following research and consultation with Parent Councils across Scotland. The AGM will adopt a formal constitution and elect a Leadership Team.
Parents contributing to new qualifications development
The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) is developing and will deliver the next generation of National Qualifications to support Curriculum for Excellence.
