Personal learning planning

This support package on ‘Personal learning planning' contains a range of staff development materials designed to help schools think about the school's role in involving parents in personal learning planning.

A parent-friendly leaflet has been developed that highlights the parent's role in personal learning planning.  This leaflet is available through schools or can be downloaded from this website.

Schools may wish to base their own communication with parents on this leaflet. The text can be amended to suit local circumstances.


More detailed information for parents about personal learning planning is also available on the Parentzone website.  Schools may wish to use materials from the website to enhance the information made available to parents through the leaflet.


'Making the difference' is a series of information packages for parents and schools to support parents' involvement in their children's learning. 
The packages are designed to be as flexible and adaptable as possible, enabling local authorities, schools and parents to draw on and combine the materials in ways that best suit their local wishes and circumstances.
