Introduction

This support package on sharing information contains a range of staff development materials designed to help schools think about how they share information with parents and encourage parents and families to share with the school.

A parent-friendly leaflet that highlights the difference that parents can (and do) make by effective sharing of information between home and school. This leaflet is available through schools or can be downloaded from this website.

Schools may wish to use this leaflet as the basis of their own communication with parents or schools may amend the text as appropriate to suit local circumstances.

More detailed practical information about sharing information and communication between families and schools is also available on the Parentzone website. Schools may wish to use these materials to enhance the information made available to parents through the leaflet.

'Making the difference' is a series of information packages for parents and schools to support parents' involvement in their children's learning.

The format of the packages is designed to be as flexible and adaptable as possible, enabling local authorities, schools and parents to draw on and combine the materials in ways that best suit their local wishes and circumstances.
