Out of School Hours Learning

Bo'ness Academy lunchtime clubs

This project arose after a survey at the Academy highlighted the need to provide activities for pupils over the lunchtime period. Prior to the lunchtime clubs, pupils had tended to congregate in the ‘social area’, which led to problems such as bullying, litter and anti-social behaviour. The school tackled this problem and now has 26 different lunchtime clubs in place. They can accommodate 30% of the school population and range from book clubs to keep fit.

In these video clips two members of staff from Bo’ness Academy share their journey explaining the process of how they started, how they are keeping the clubs going and their future plans.
