The children are now using the digital cameras and associated software independently, indeed creatively. These skills also transferred from school to home.
The school grounds were used in an extremely meaningful way and the children were able to explore and publicise the diversity of the grounds. The project also highlighted the strong links between ICT and school grounds - this is often under utilised.
The art teacher at the high school really enjoyed being part of the project and was able to see the sort of ways the children are exploring digital photography in the primary school.
The children were able to work well with a host of outside agencies to ensure the success of the project.
The online provision of photos means that the photos are accessible to anyone who wants copies, any time. The bank of photos are also a fantastic record of our school grounds at this time.
This project really has been special for everyone involved, and it’s not over yet. The enterprise element of the project has still to come to fruition - watch out for those calendars!
