  At the Scottish Learning Festival on September 23, 2009, the Education Secretary Fiona Hyslop announced the publication of the strategic vision and key principles for assessment in Curriculum for Excellence.

• Pupils take on oil and gas sector challenge

  24 August 2009
  The Press and Journal reports that on Friday 21 August budding scientists and mathematicians embarked on an oil and gas industry challenge as part of a project to put their skills into practice. Eighty-nine S6 pupils from Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are taking part in Stem in the Pipeline, a three-month science and technology project which will see them work closely with the sector.
