Distribution to centres
Below are the distribution arrangements for publications from Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS), including resources from the former Higher Still Development Unit (HSDU).
Learning and Teaching Scotland support materials
With the exception of Gaelic/Gàidhlig and Classics, one free copy of each title in:
- the National Qualifications Curriculum Support (NQCS) series
- LT Scotland's 14 -16 Teacher Support series
are sent to all mainstream secondary schools and colleges on publication.
Special schools receive support materials on request. Gaelic/Gàidhlig and Classics titles are sent only to schools and colleges that enter students for examinations in these subjects.
LT Scotland also produces NQ support materials which are online only and are accessible from the NQ e-library by subject.
Higher Still Development Unit (HSDU) support materials
Support materials produced by the former HSDU for high uptake subjects were issued to all mainstream secondary schools and colleges in Scotland. Support materials for low uptake subjects and Access levels 1 and 2 were distributed to schools on request (via their local authority).
How to obtain HSDU materials
Each college and education authority holds a reference collection containing all the HSDU support materials. It should be noted that although LT Scotland may still be able to supply schools and colleges with additional copies of these resources, you should first check whether your school, college or local authority has copies.
Back-up copies of HSDU resources were also distributed electronically, copyright permitting, on a series of 28 CD-ROMs to schools, colleges and education authorities. See the list of support materials in the CD-ROM series to help you locate materials for your subject.
Higher Still support materials produced specifically for Access 1, 2 and 3 were sent directly to all special schools and units, education authorities, further education colleges and teacher education institutions. Access 3 materials were also sent directly to all mainstream secondary schools, as indicated above.
