The countermelody part for this has sections where chords of three notes are
shown. Teachers should use their discretion here; if the part is being played
on tuned percussion then pupils should be encouraged to play two of the notes
in the chord (with two beaters); if playing a melody instrument which can only
play one note at once, then the upper or lower notes should be played (or all
three if there are enough pupils able to share this part); upper strings playing
this part might double stop two notes from these chords.
