To fully benefit from these music learning materials, students should complete all areas beneath the level they are studying.
For instance, an Intermediate 2 student should cover Access 3 and Intermediate 1 before completing Intermediate 2. A Standard Grade Credit student should complete Foundation and General level to cover all of the listening concepts.
At the end of each level there is a quiz to complete. Students can print out their scores and keep a note of concepts that they need to revise.
Instrumental Music - from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods
Vocal Music - from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods
20th Century Music - including all forms from pop and rock to minimalism

Some topic areas include pages with downloadable MIDI files for composing practice. MIDI files should be imported into a music sequencing program or music writing program on your computer. The topics in the navigation bar on the left of your screen are covered at all three levels: Access 3 or Foundation level, Intermediate 1 or General level, and Intermediate 2 or Credit level.
Access 3 or Foundation level
Import the file and drag the melody notes up or down to create a melody from a given chord structure.
Intermediate 1 or General level
Import the file, copy and drag rhythm patterns to the melody line and then drag melody notes up or down to create a melody from a given chord structure.
Intermediate 2 or Credit level
Import the file and drag chord accompaniment patterns into order to create your own composition and then create your own melody.
